Industrial Electronic Wiring Ltd (IEW), a leading provider of electrical and mechanical assemblies, is proud to mark its 45th anniversary – celebrating decades of innovation, commitment to quality, and strong team values.
Founded on 28 June 1980 by Les Wheeler from his home in Highworth, IEW began as a small-scale operation with a clear vision and a drive to succeed. Today, the business has grown to a 60-strong team and a reputation for technical excellence across a broad range of industries.
Following a successful management buy-out five years ago, IEW has embraced a future-focused strategy to meet the evolving demands of the industry. Recent milestones include:
Workplace investment – launching employee skills development programmes and embedding a values-led culture across the business.
Sustainability progress – completing three years of Scope 1 and 2 emissions reporting and moving into Scope 3 tracking as part of its net-zero ambition.
Digital transformation – modernising operations through infrastructure upgrades, bespoke software tools, and in-house training to enable smarter, data-driven decisions.
Productivity enhancements – adopting Kaizen process improvements and investing in automated cut-strip-crimp machinery to streamline workflows.
As IEW looks to its 50th year, a new five-year plan has been launched to drive sustainable growth, increase operational efficiency, and continue delivering value to customers and partners.
To mark the 45-year milestone, the team unveiled new branded merchandise featuring a subtle ‘45 years’ print, custom-produced by WizzPrintUK. The thoughtful gesture was met with enthusiasm across the company.
IEW Managing Director Duncan Game said:
“This anniversary is a proud moment for the whole team. It’s a reflection of our strong foundations, but also our adaptability and forward-thinking mindset. We’re excited about the future and remain committed to supporting our people, our partners, and the wider industry.”
